Variant 02: Ford 1.1L Duratec. Ford’s 1.1L Duratec engine is also called the 1.1-liter TI-VCT engine. The engine has a displacement of 1.1 liters and has three cylinders. It is the second-smallest engine in the Ford engine family after the Ford 1.0 EcoBoost, which Ford has been manufacturing since 2017.The 2.5L build is one h*ll of an engine! The engine is designed with a bigger bore and a longer stroke producing more torque and horsepower simply by changing the dynamics of these factors. The 2.5L engine was developed a few years ago. The duratec is a better engine in terms of power & performance. The duratec block is stronger & the heads flow much better than any zetec head. But Honestly they are a lot harder to work on. The zetec is very easy to work on. N/a the zetecs don't make huge power but they can be built up for FI and make great power.
The Duratec 37's additional displacement over the Duratec 35 is achieved through a 3 mm increase in bore diameter which results in a 95.5 mm (3.76 in) bore. The engine began production in the 2008 Maxda CX-9 under Mazda's MZI moniker and produces 273 hp (204 kW) at 6,250 rpm and 270 lb·ft (366 N·m) at 4,250 rpm.
One is a 01' 2.3 Lima, the other a 02' Duratec. The Duratec has 92K on it for $5800, the Lima has 67K on it for $7999. Have any of you guys found one engine preferable over the other? Is the Lima more reliable than the Duratec? I need the truck for commuting on the highway to my 12 hr work shift, so I need it to be reliable. Any suggestions LD5XyY.
