The new firmware updates arrives as build number A510FXX04CQE9 and A710FXXU2CQE3 for Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 2016 and bumps up the OS to Android 7.0 Nougat. The update for A7 was initially rolled out in Asia and is now rolling out to other regions iteratively.

Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 (codename: a5y17lte) was launched in the year January 2017. The phone came out of the box with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and later upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo.
